a slight twist on the classic shakespearean sonnet. written for spring and a light romance.

A SONNET FOR SPRING

by emcraigs

i want to be close to you; our fingers pressed to each other’s skin. cool air falls like a blanket around us and the night cannot wait to begin.

my eyelids are heavy with the tender touch of your lips; and the moon sighs in favor of every weightless whisper of a kiss.

and now the time has come for the dawn to make her way while we toss and turn, entangled in her soft, golden rays.

i never understood the sunrise nor the sunset until i watched both, beside you, in bed.

This was beautiful and filled to overflowing with charm. You did an excellent job confining yourself to the formal construct of a sonnet and get that beautiful message across. Great sonnet!!!
