Lily loved to dance ever since she was little.
Her family never told her one tiny detail...
Her family never told her one tiny detail... she had no sense of rhythm, whatsoever.
Her parents thought by not telling her this, they would spare her.
No one knew, until Lily went to her eighth grade dance, excited beyond belief.
But, middle schoolers are cruel, and when they saw Lily dance, flapping her legs about wildly, they laughed at her, and said she looked like a chicken.
Lily fled the dance in tears. "I'll never dance again!" She cried.
Then, the door swung open. Someone else had exited the gym too. It was Leon, a boy in her class.
"What do you want from me?" Lily sobbed and turned away. Leon didn't say anything, but then, he started to dance.
Whether there was music or not, it didn't matter, because Leon had absolutely no rhythm either. Lily didn't understand, how could he be so happy?
"Who cares about them?" Leon grinned. "Just dance."
And so they did, laughing and having a wonderful time.
It was the perfect dance.
