Little Voices

We step outside on arduous days

On monochromatic briefcase sways

Ascend the dull, bleak cityscape

With thousand thoughts for quick escape

Yet as we don our bland black suit

We pause beside old mundane route

Amidst the clattering city noises

A gust of bliss proves little voices

And they will sing, and they will dance

By fate we see such gracious chance

And less and less, the mundane fade

A cradled rest for glib charade

Then even if our toll span miles

We count the etch of fleeting smiles

Amidst our cold, regretful choices

A gust of bliss proves little voices
