Please don't feel guilty or a shamed for not being fine.

"I'll be okay"

by dissonance

And you see over time, “I’ll be okay” has no meaning!

So if you're not okay, just tell me.

It's fine, you're only human.

So much truth in a short post! People get upset with me because I know they aren't fine, and I keep poking and probing until they break down and start talking. I'm sorry, but I hear your words, but if they don't match your tone and body language, I'm not taking "I'm fine." as an answer.

Great statement. The phrases, "I'm fine", 'I'm OK", and I'll be OK" become strobing red light for me. When they are coupled with a then wane smile it is a frank expression of a depressed person shutting down. It takes immediate intervention. You did a great job bringing this to the front burner. Great job!!!
