A poem about the bliss of ignorance and the joy to be had in escapism.

Unmelodious Misdemeanor

The wind whistled through the leaves.

A terrible tune,

Discordant as the clamour of an old dog shot in the yard.

It was a ballad bashed out by a bruised infant,

A send-off song for springtime.

It was the blues sung by a witches’ coven,

And I happily ignored it all.
