She Flourishes, She Fades

by dgandreid

Whatever happened to Amette Dareen?

she was a girl with simple dreams

she thought she knew who she was

and it all seemed golden it all seemed true

she would make it,

because everything it what it seems?

but she became like a flower falling,

disillusioned by what she saw

she thought she had nice friends

she thought that, this was this, and that was that

but nothing is all that it seems

she saw what she saw, and broke down not as bright as before

she became like a flower falling,

disillusioned by what she saw

she flourishes, she fades she flourished, she faded

and questioned things like never before

did she lose her faith in what she thought she knew?

she flourishes, she fades

This was very well written. I loved the analogy to a flower waxing and waning from perfection. You were able to address reality shock from an exterior viewpoint. This poem had technical excellence. Great Job!!!

Very interesting story. I look at this post in the prospective of, we sometimes can have simple dreams, and want simple lives. But sometimes we start to wonder is this all we are cut out for? Are these people really who they say they are? Am I flourishing or fading? It's just a prospective. But even so. Awesome post!
