The sister of Rachel Elizabeth Dare’s story, Part 1

A Whole New World

I'm Jacquelyn Dare, Jackie for short. The sister of Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Rachel is the Oracle. For demigods. I'm not a demigod. Neither is Rachel. But she still gets a cool job for demigods.

So unfair. I won't pretend I'm not jealous. Because I really am. Every summer Dad takes Rachel to Camp Half-Blood, but me? I'm the reject. I have to stay home, and game all summer. Booooooring.

I've never even met a demigod. Rachel promised that someday I could meet a demigod. She talks to me like I'm a baby. But I happen to be three years older than her. Anyways, it was June 15th.

It was the first day of summer school. Lunchtime has just ended, and I was drifting off to sleep. My teacher, Ms. Crawford, was writing on the blackboard, her back facing us.

I heard a quiet creak as the door opened, and Rachel peeked her head through. I almost fell out of my chair. Rachel motioned for me to come. I darted my eyes around, Ms. Crawford hadn't seen.

But my entire class had seen me. I kneeled down next to my best friend Aaron. "Cover for me." I whispered. Aaron nodded. I slowly followed Rachel into the hallway.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed. "I could get detention if I get caught! During summer school!" Rachel rolled her eyes. "I know, I know.

But I felt bad that you were stuck in stinky old summer school and I was going to dreamy, beautiful, gorgeous Camp Half-Blood, so I talked Dad into letting you come with me!

For the entire summer!" Rachel's eyes gleamed. My jaw dropped. I screamed like a crazy fan girl. "Oh my god!!!!! Yes! Finally!!" Rachel clapped her hand over my mouth.

"Shut up! Your teacher is going to hear you!" Rachel and I ran outside, and back home. Dad was sitting on the couch, watching TV. "Oh good, you got Jackie.

Hurry up and pack, we leave in twenty minutes." Dad ordered. I ran upstairs and began to throw clothes into a suitcase. I couldn't wait.

I hope everyone liked this, if it looks wonky it is because this is my first time doing it on my phone, I apologize. Let me know what you think!
