#1 My dream of being an astronaut

I was still five back then, there was a trend about space-themed toys and games. I thought that being an astronaut was cool, because you could go outside the earth. I could go with my spaceship to explore this unlimited universe.

Probably put my feet on the moon and started to jump without gravity. I also like the concept that you could float around in the outer space.

Unfortunately, there was an alien movie that scared the hell out of me. And if being an astronaut means that you had to face aliens sometimes when you're in Mars or Neptune, that's quite a horror.

I mean, what if when we landed on Jupiter and there were cockroach-like aliens that suddenly crawling into your spaceships and slowly devouring your other astronauts and your coworkers. Yeah, that's dark, but I guess I thought too much when I was still five.

#2 My dream of being a game developer

Yeah, there was once in my lifetime, when I was still in my elementary school, I got addicted into playing a lot of games. I got PlayStation One from my cousins, and I played Crash Bandicoot games a lot.

And there were also many strategy computer games like Heroes: Might and Magic or Warcraft, that actually had some good stories in it. Especially when you had already finished the game and saw the ending, and you have thoughts like "Did I beat the game? Or did the game beat me? :("

But that dream only lasted until the end of elementary school. It was because later I knew that game were created by really hardcore computer programming.

Coding was one of my nemesis later in that life. It turns out that I didn't play games for the joy or thrill of playing it. I usually played some games because of their fine stories, and that's why I've decided to write stories after that time.

#3 My dream of becoming a father of four kids.

I dreamed about this when I was still in middle school. It's actually too young to think about these things, especially when you didn't even have a girlfriend back then. The reason that I wanted four was because I want my kids to be treated evenly.

The oldest child will think that since he is born, he has the right to make rules for the siblings.

The oldest child will think that since he is born, he has the right to make rules for the siblings. But the youngest child will think that he/she is the most fragile one, and will ask mommy and daddy to help him/her when there's a fight between them, so the rules doesn't apply to the youngest child.

The child in the middle don't have anything as a bargain as the other two, so in order to prevent the jealousy, I made the second middle child.

At least, that's what I used to think. But then I realized later in real life that having too many kids could make you spend a huge ton of money for their needs. So I don't know, probably one or two will be enough.

#4 My dream of being a movie director

I made a lot characters in my head when I was in high school, most of them were action and fantasy based. I imagined a lot of them being put into real action or fantasy movies. The thing is I don't have the ability to draw, even until now, so I tried to write a novel, but I didn't know why I never managed to finish one.

The reason was probably by the time I was writing one novel, another idea popped up and I got excited into that other idea.

The second year of my high school was the time when I realized that if you want to work in this sector, you have to do a lot of gamble. The school is not cheap, and when you work, you will have a lot of competitors. That day, I couldn't imagine me being on the same level as Steven Spielberg or George Lucas.

#5 My dream of making robots

I watched Iron Man movies and used to play some Fallout games during the third year of my high school. By that time, I liked technology and other futuristic stuff, especially artificial intelligence. I was wondering if I could have a robot dog as my pet in the future.

But I guess it's pretty hard to that, the system, the coding, the chassis, so many complications to build a single synthetic brain, and even if I'm succeed in doing that,

But I guess it's pretty hard to that, the system, the coding, the chassis, so many complications to build a single synthetic brain, and even if I'm succeed in doing that, what if it rebels against me :O

My head is also not smart enough to do that, so that's why I chose the engineering that's more realistic for me.

#6 My dream of being a writer

During my college years, I found that my passion was connected with stories. I like telling my stories to other people, fact or fiction. At the same time, I also like to listen to other people's stories, this was my base of knowing other people's personality.

Storytelling can be achieved by two methods, by your mouth or by your hands. I tried writing long stories like novels with my hands, and it didn't work. Then, I tried to make shorter stories to prevent my distraction about other crazy story ideas.

What I like about being a writer is, that it's not only a job, it's also a profession. Nearly anyone can write, and most of them come from different backgrounds.

This diversity is actually the source of good storytelling. Stories that you read will never be the same as other stories because it is written with other personalities and other styles.

I believe that most of the people write, not because merely for profit, but more because they want their stories to be heard. Up until now, I don't know if I can actually publish a book and get some money from it, but I guess I'm still young and I can dream about it.

And this is one of the stories that I want to be heard :)
