My Story for You

by dawnvaley Thank you very much guys for following me, I didn't realize that my followers have gone up too 900+.

Thanks for your supports, and because of that, I am planning to share some pieces about me to you guys. Sorry for my bad English.

#1 The Name Val

Val is a short version of my Catholic's Confirmation name, which is Valentine. The name came from the story of Saint Valentine. But I also personally pick the name because it's cool to be heard.

There are a lot of fictional characters that use this name, such as Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII), Nick Valentine (Fallout 4), etc. It also represents "love" which I hope that I can always give it to my family, friends, lover, and other people.

#2 The Alter-Ego Frank

Beside my confirmation name, I also have the Catholic's Baptism name, which was picked by my parents when I was still a baby. The name is Francis Xavier. I created this personality, because it's the one that was needed in the real world.

I've already accepted the truth that personalities, ideas, and other traits that humans have are sometimes behave like markets. In order for me to get through the social life, I might need another personality to cope with it, so people outside can "buy" my personality more.

But don't worry, Val still exist in the real world too, but different market, of course.

#3 My Work

Well, I like writing, but honestly, I don't how to make a living from it, feel free to tell me the "how to's" from your experiences guys.

But I've never thought writing as my profession, at least until now. I'm still quite young, and I will finally start my career next month, becoming an engineer for an air conditioning company. I might be able to write some of my writing on the sides, if I have time.

#4 My Favorite Music

The genre of music that I like is really random, so I will give you the list of the type of music that I usually listen to, including the artists: -Rock/Alternative: Nirvana, Oasis, Blur, Gorillaz, etc. -Punk Rock: Blink 182, Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Bowling for soup, etc.

-Chillhop/Jazzhop/J-Hop: Nujabes, Re:plus, Joakim Karud, Joey Pecoraro, etc. -Jazz/Swing/Bebop: Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, The Seatbelts, Casiopea, etc. -Classic: Franz Liszt, Antonio Vivaldi, Rachmaninoff, etc.

-The Shawshank Redemption -Saving Private Ryan -Donnie Darko -You're the Apple of My Eye -Westworld -How I Met Your Mother -Narcos

#9 My Life

Well, I am male, 23, and I live in Indonesia, one of the biggest countries in the South-east Asia. My country has various cultures and it's being mixed in one country. But starting from next month, I will work in Japan, wish me luck, guys!

I am a Chinese descendant, but I can't speak Chinese at all, I should've learned it when I was a kid. I still live with my family until now. My closest family member is my little brother, we have 6 years difference, and we are so different in many ways.

But because of that, there will always be a topic or a story between us. I also have a girlfriend, she has been with me for about 4 years and we're still going strong.

#10 My Message to Commaful

I actually have something to share with you guys. I've seen a lot of people here have talents and passions for writing. Sometimes I'm a bit jealous to other writers who has a lot of vocabularies and can place it beautifully on poems or other stories.

Honestly, right now, I actually don't know if I have a passion or a talent for writing. Because of that, I've decided to work as a engineer first, and just do my writing on the sides. I hope that someday, after I have a lot of money, I can use that to support my creations.

I have a goal to write some self-help or self-improvement books. But of course, in order to do that, I should help myself first. I've seen a lot of people here, and also outside have so many problems, especially problems with anxiety.

Not gonna lie, I used to have that, my self-esteem was quite low. I didn't have many friends, I even made my own imaginary friends. But I've finally learned that this phase of social life needs to be done.

You will always meet so many situations when you are not able to cope with most of the people, until you finally realized the "what to do's" and "what not to do's" in the social life. These can only be done by going out often, not by locking yourself down.

Because of this, I am eager to help other people overcome these things, that's why one of my goals are to publish some self-development books. I will try my best to do this, if you need some advice, you can ask me, I will try to help you, but keep in mind that I am also still learning how to be more sociable.

Commaful is one of the place where I can actually learn people's emotions and reasons through writing, and I am glad to be here, so thank you very much guys. I have to prepare myself for my work, so I don't know for how long I can still be in this site.

I will still be able to chat, but I might reduce the amount of my writing. Feel free to chat me anytime! Once again, thank you very much Commaful :)
