You told me that you loved me, That everything about me was anything that you’d ever need. I’m guessing that was a dream, because one day you snapped, woke up and you quit choosing me. You chose the pills and sketchy deals I guess life itself no longer gave you that thrill. You had to find it elsewhere, popping 2 to 3 of those little yellows as meals. It’s funny, you were swallowing what seemed like little rays of sunshine to make you happy, But it did nothing but drain me of mine. It made me feel useless, it made me ill, I tried to find understanding but you said “babe, just chill” But how do I “chill” when you’d rather find drugs than to feel . Darla Smith
