Defining Me

by dannibear1461

I am a woman yes you can see, I dare you to define and pigeon hole me.

I am single for a reason, let me give you an explanation I live independently, modest without an invasion

I am a mum, work and renovate my house single handily I take pride in my appearance, but we live happily

I am at one with myself and know who I am I don't need any validation from a man

To love me is to love yourself first I do not need anyone else to nurse

Accept my faults which there are a few In time your name will be on a pew

I am a whole so I am complete So just make my heart miss a beat

Through a connection of mind, soul and body I am sure in time we will be stronger than anybody

However push me to the edge of my sensitive demure, with harsh incentive words Of the actions you cannot see instead severe the ties between you and I,

And like my true free spirit shall carry on care free Whilst my heart will be broken for no one to see.

Walls will be built to guard my heart But you'll be banished away from that part

Words can hurt or words can heal I use them to express just how I feel

@bernardtwindwil Thank you I appreciate the acknowledgment in your comments and praise. This is new to me and I am honoured to be compared to "ee Cummings" thank you again

I appreciated the subtleties in the mix of image and words. The metre of your writing is wonderful. It so 'ee cummings'. Hold on to your hat. I am a man and I am validating your craft, creativity, and grasp on reaslity. I realize you don't need it. Who does? But you have it.
