Flaws make us human.

Perfection.

by cjhale

What is perfection?

Or rather, what has society made it to be?

Beautiful. Skinny. Molded to their standards.

Undermining the fact that there are people who don't fit that mold.

People who are, a little 'too fat' or skin, 'too dark'

Or maybe they just don't think the way the world does.

I'm here to tell you, that is not perfection.

Perfection, is flawed. The concept, the word, the definition, is flawed, there is no such thing as perfection, unless there are flaws.

But what we think are flaws,

Body shape, skin color, language, race, background.

They really aren't.

Those 'flaws' make us human, make us who we are, make us perfect.

Those 'flaws' make you unique.

You are beautiful. You are flawed, but you are human, and you are perfect.

Thank you for finally recognizing the perfection that I have always seen in myself. This was such an excellent pick -me-up piece that I think every person between 12 and 40 should read it to begin each day. I love your positive stories and poems. You are on my radar, Charlie. Great job!!!
