We all look at the world through a layer of dust, and we don't see the big picture.

Dust

by cjhale

Sometimes we can't see

What's happening outside of our lives, we don't know anything about anything, and our vision is clouded.

There is a thick cloud of dust.

It hovers around us, and when it settles, still all we can see is our own problems, for dust has gathered.

Sometimes we need to wash away the dust,

That is our problems, our concerns, our lives, we need to see the world in new color.

We need rain to fall.

To unblock our ears, to open our eyes, to wake us up, and see the world in all its beauty, and in all its devastation.

The world is a big place.

It's bigger than our own individual problems.

And when we wash away that dust...

...We can see the world, in a whole new light, with color and vibrancy like never before.

And we can revel in its beauty.

And mourn in the pain that is...everywhere.

And we can do something.

It might not be much, maybe a simple act of kindness? A smile to a sad soul? Whatever it is we can make our world a better place, when we lift up our head, and wash away the dust.

Are you willing to wake up?

And see the world...

...Without the dust...

...without the cloud?

Will you change the world?

Dust is such a great metaphor. It has been used in all languages. Dust and fog. The writing was laden with powerful emotion. You brought the message home in a melodic flow.
