We used to count wars by numbers, back when it was all on just one world.
Now we have expanded beyond the galaxy, beyond counting our numbers, beyond what we thought was possible.
Flesh and blood turned to chrome and light. Fibre-optic veins.
The changes did not happen at once. It was a slow and steady thing. So slow we didn’t notice until it had already been that way for a long time.
But it was like this now: a universe at war, humans were obsolete,
and we all bleed pixels.
