A poem about the sadness of seeing someone who is now a stranger

Peach Pit

by charlie

I could see my reflection in the window

over her shoulder and past

the halo of hair

peach juice ran down her chin into her lap

she was barefoot and,

i thought it was magnificent

delicate

That's the word for her

And she's the world to me

I think to myself sometimes

It's sad

That we've been dead to each other for so long

Very powerful. You did not telegraph the punch in the final verse. It was a lyrical wonder. Great poem!!!!!
