Poem in the monotetra form. Written for the daily prompt "Echoes." It also has a special authors note at the end!

Echo Chamber

An echo chamber holds our thought

An echo chamber holds our thought Older ideas are held taut

An echo chamber holds our thought Older ideas are held taut Nothing new could be begot

An echo chamber holds our thought Older ideas are held taut Nothing new could be begot So here we rot, so here we rot

To be unleashed from this tight hold

To be unleashed from this tight hold Listen up and try not to scold

To be unleashed from this tight hold Listen up and try not to scold New ideas that don't uphold

To be unleashed from this tight hold Listen up and try not to scold New ideas that don't uphold That which is old, that which is old

~~~ Author's Note: I usually believe in not taking into account the authors intentions when interpreting a piece but I feel it is important for this poem. An echo chamber is a way of surrounding yourself with media that only shows you that which you already believe.
It can be a dangerous way that can lead to radicalized thoughts and in nations where radicalized thought is on the rise, it is important to break free from that echo chamber. I highly encourage all my readers to have open yet polite discussions on politics, philosophy, and other related topics. I encourage all my readers to exercise your critical thinking skills!
Thank you for reading and good luck! -Charlie Sheldon
