Exploding into existence as quickly as it multiplies
The great antagonist to eukaryotic life,
Destroying everything in its path.
Reeking havoc, changing behaviours, and jumping from host to host
Perfectly adapted to infect, divide, and survive
The best one’s won’t kill you, they won’t even make you that ill
They want you to go out, meet people. To socialise
Because it is here they can do their best work
Forcing a cough from your throat and dancing through a hailstorm of air particles
Indiscriminately invading the throat lining of others
Until there’s nobody left to infect
When everybody has gone who has won?
No homes for the virus whilst our home lies dormant
And with it; new virus. Hand in hand, never one without the other.
The arms race continues.
