Writing is art. Never let a wrong audience bring you down. Hold your course, always!

To My Appreciated Colleagues

by Carla Fischer

Always keep an eye ...

... on literary distinctness.

Write efficiently.

If readers then cannot expand your lines in their minds,

you have not made anything wrong.

You just encountered ...

... the wrong audience.—

Writing is art. Never let a wrong audience bring you down. Hold your course. Always!

@bernardtwindwil Thank you, Bernard! Yes, they need---no, they won't. But better no comment at all than trash. I wrote the advice, first, to generate some self-cheerleading, call it auto-therapy, after getting a somewhat more than seldom stupid response from a reader to my latest story that made it to press a few weeks ago. After digesting, I thought it would be helpful to others getting likewise stupid commentary. If there is just one who understands what I made then I'm fine. If I get good a comment or review, even better. But if people don't like my peaches, why shaking my tree? With an advice like this one in my pocket, members of the page-turner club can shake how long they want to pursue such horribly futile an undertaking. All they get, then, is even more of the stuff they don't like. ;)
