Whilst short, this poem speaks about the strength of a woman who has to fight her demons each day. It also speaks of the man who loves her, but is powerless to help her. However, she is her own saviour. She is her own protector. She is the strongest person I have ever known. Because she is still here, and she still fights.
Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the presence of fear yet the will to go on.
He thought never to drop her,
For in his eye she was fragile.
Glass cannot help but shatter,
When falling from height,
but she is made of stronger stuff,
she is made of might.
She needs not his delicate protection,
She needs not his empty strength.
She has been her own saviour,
And a warrior at length.
