Broken Chain

by byrnebyrne

Two Lives that have always been together

with hearts that joined as one , Let go today

She only had one love

It was him

He never believed that life

without her could be this way

Another night has passed

without feeling her kisses

and her body aches

to feel her lovers touch

but the distance

just getting longer

The link that held us together

is like a broken chain

how can we move on

after all this time

just passing by life

as friends

I love her

she will always have my heart

I love him

He will always have my heart

This chain linked our hearts

right from the very start

This was beautifully lyrical. Your switching POVs work dramatically within the verses. The simplicity and innocence were intriguing. Very good poem.
