Zombies

by bryanthomas

The zombies are everywhere now. There's no escape. Every country. Every city. Every street. Automatons. Obsessed. Possessed.

Only the very young are free of the curse. "I'm here, Mummy? Daddy?" There's no reply.

Hordes of children abandoned at the gates of technology. The forgotten digital orphans. The true living dead. 21st century kids. Ignored. Bored. Flawed. They too will fall prey to the saviour.

The zombies prod... and stroke... and scroll... and gabble. Their devotion is all-consuming. They worship without question.

Who is their hollow god? Their false Idol? Their attention thief? Any mobile phone you care to mention.
