The Older Woman

by bryanthomas

"Your hand is on my knee," said Andrew. "I know," said Jessica.

"If I asked you to remove it, would you?" "Maybe. Maybe not."

"My mum is over there, standing by the ice cream van, she might see you." "She might."

"Your hand is still on my knee." "I know."

"Do you know how old I am?" "No." "I'm eleven, and your hand is still on my knee." "Would you like me to remove it?" "Maybe. Maybe not." "I see."

"My mum would say that being an older woman you really should know better." "Andrew, lighten up, I'm only twelve."
