I breathe in the dirty smell of algae.
I relax my shoulders; it’s all okay.
I feel water on my feet as the waves curl,
The tranquillity causes my life to unfurl.
I see my whole life laid out in front of me.
I’m finally at home, free from tragedy.
I take a breath and open my eyes,
Looking around at the sunny skies
The smell of fresh rain tingles my nose
It washes away pain and the tedious woes.
I see in the distance a menacing raincloud
Thunder booms painfully loud.
The air is always dirtily fresh,
The skies an indecisive mess.
I’m in the greatest place that I’ve ever known,
I’m in Canada, the place that I call home.
