Not very many people, no traffic, very few trees. But tons of sky. At first, I held my breath. Waiting for life to happen.
I watched chickens. I tilled earth, planted, waited for warmth. The water came from deep below my home. I learned about sustainability from lack.
Part of each year being stuck taught me To let go. I held my breath long enough. There was crisp air and stars and so much to take in. Breathe, breathe.
By the time I found formal meditation I was already home. I had always been home.
By holding still with the present moment, Moments I couldn't change, Moments of discomfort. I found beauty in truth. Truth in simplicity.
Wishing you simple truths from Idaho. May you be well. May you find peace. May you be happy.
