A page from the diary of an ocean.

The Unwilling Accomplice

by bookbee109

I watched as she fell. Fell into my arms. Her tears mixing with my own.

My watery surface dipped and embraced her fragile form.

I felt her lungs gasping for air but nothing could be done now. It was too late.

Once again someone had ridden their life through me.

It's true that I sheltered many lives, but I had shredded many too.

Death was a cruel murderer, while I, his unwilling accomplice.

Wonderful descriptive language. Very creative as we all come from the ocean in the first place. Great story!!!

Wow... and interesting idea, really. Many things out there are death's unwilling accomplices, but I have a particular fear of dying at sea myself... great post!
