"The silence around us drives my imagination into a frenzy at the unlikeliest of times - in my head, you are the loudest. But I'll quiet the internal turmoil with due time."

Headspace

by burlbbird

In my head I pretend that we are friends

That we sit in this imaginary place A space where I have my own room And destiny has brought us back as acquaintances

I tell you of the sun and moon As we sit on my imaginary large bed A vinyl playing in the distance

I tell you of what went wrong Clarify my error and ways And we make up as friends do

I have tried to picture the exact words you'd say But I hear nothing All I see is the face you'd make

I have tried to imagine your responses to my endless stream of questions But I hear nothing All I see is the wild motions of your hands

In the end, no matter how hard I try to picture these things, I realize they most likely will never become reality

So in my head Is where I pretend we are friends

@traptluv @bernardtwindwil @LostInMyDreams @pluzoo Thank you very much! I'm glad you all found some emotional connection to my tale and that the visuals further drive my point.

Very creative. You used your own hand crafted visual imagery to turn your words into a virtual short. Your poetic words captivates your readers into the setting of the story where we can see and almost hear that vinyl playing in the background while you express your deepest feelings for someone close to you. Well done.

This was sad on so many levels. Your words introduced the flights of fantasy to your readers with a deft touch. Great job!
