by Bijan Sarhangpour
Bijan Sarhangpour was a sportsman and competitor throughout his youth, having participated in everything from basketball and swimming to running 400-meter track events during high school.
But the sport that captivated his interest and drove his passion most as a teen was fencing -- a form of competition he not only devoted years of training,
but in which he stood out as one of the premier athletes in his country, if not the world.
By the age of 16, Bijan Sarhangpour (Sarhang Pour) has reached a high ranking nationally in both the floret and epee, and was one of the more notable members of Iran's National Team of Fencing.
As Fencing Cadet, Sarhangpour also enjoyed the chance to compete in numerous fencing events around the world, including:
* More than six Fencing World Championships (Cadet & Junior)
* Over 15 International Fencing Championships Competitions (Men's)
* An Asian Fencing Championship (Men's, Jakarta)
