The Lockets: Chapter 2

"Well, they certainly are pretty, but she must have messed up when she gave them to us. Wait a minute. This makes sense.

She bought us those perfumes, didn't give us a reciept, and gave us two lockets we didn't want to buy nor purchased. I think she's setting us up.

What if her plan is to get a promotion because she caught people who were stealing?" Diana said, worriedly.

"Okay, okay. Slow down. Not everyone in the world is evil. Maybe it was her birthday or something and she felt like doing something good.

And from the expression on your face, I can tell that you're not convinced. Well, if it's any consolation, this happened to me once before, and look at me.

I'm still here and have never gone to juvie. See? No need to worry," Katherine said, with a tint of an annoyed tone.

"Okay, but Katherine Marie Spencer, if anything goes wrong, I will never speak to you again," Diana replied.

"Fine, but Diana Annabelle Bartlet, you will never hear the end of it if I was right," Katherine grinned.

Diana just shook her head.

Katherine hung her shoulder around Diana and dragged her to the next store; Chanel.

"Wow! Look at all the wonderful items to choose from! How will I ever decide?" Katherine said going from one aisle to another in a flash.

"I know how you will decide," Diana said with a grin, "find the most expensive item and the least expensive one."

"And what will I do from there? Buy both of them?" Katherine asked, unconvinced.

"You'll see!" Diana said mysteriously.

"Fine," Katherine replied, and she started looking.

Just as something caught Diana's eye, Katherine came back.

"Okay, so I found the least expensive item which is Chanel Cotton Pads, and I didn't like the most expensive item so I got a quite expensive one which is the classic Chanel bag for $6,800.

Oh and the cotton pads are $20. So, what's the next part of your challenge?"

"Okay, so now you are going to close your eyes," Diana said mysteriously, with a sly smile.

Diana noticed from the beginning that the same cashier from Dior was also at the cashier here. She chose her two items, which were the cotton pads and a Chanel belt.

"Diana! Diana! Diana Annabelle! Diana Annabelle Bartlet! What is going on?

I swear, if you don't tell me in the next five seconds, I will open my eyes, look for you, and drag you all the way to your least favorite restaurant!" Katherine said, "One! Two! Three!

Four! Four and a half! Four and three quarters! Fi--"

Diana interrupted, "Geez! Calm down Kate, I was just looking for anything else that caught my eye. Please don't give me that look, and before you say anything, you're going to keep them both."

"What?! I DO NOT have $7,000 dollars to spend! Are you going crazy now? And I thought you were the one who did not want to overspend!" Katherine exclaimed.

"Don't worry, I've got it all under control," Diana replied with a huge grin on her face.

"Okay, well, I'm trusting you with a lot so please don't get me in trouble with my parents," Katherine said.

"Don't worry I won't."

"Hello! How may I help you?" the old lady fom Dior asked.

"Hey! Isn't that the same la--" No sooner did Katherine start that sentence than Diana had put a piece of chocolate in Katherine's mouth. Katherine cast Diana the evil eye.

"She doesn't know what she's talking about, obviously. We wanted to purchase these items. Thank you!" Diana interrupted, talking to the cashier.

"Yes, of course dear. In fact, I was feeling like giving my customers free things. Take these for free," the old lady offered.

"Thank you!" Katherine exclaimed with her classic smile.

After they started walking towards Katherine's car, Diana looked into their bag. There were their four items and two letters.

It read, “The Lockets you recieved, were for a special deed you did, Click it once, Click it twice, But, Make sure the moonlight sparkles.”
