I am old but commaful gives me a young voice
I am a War Baby born in 1944. A child of the Greatest Generation. I was here when the sound barrier , the racial barrier, and the glass ceiling was shattered. I saw men walk on the moon.
I've known war
I was born in a war. Watched the next one. Fought in the one after that. Helped with the following one and cried for the latest one. As an old war horse, maybe I can help prevent the next one.
I've seen "Whites Only" and known it was wrong
We can do better. We did a lot to bring those signs down. I have stories to tell of how bad it was. We can do better. We have had a Black President. Dr. King had a dream . We can do better.
So much was done wrong on our long march
Our young people are suffering from our mistakes. It would be selfish to go into that long goodnight without helping them. Come to commaful and share your wealth of knowledge.
So much was done right on our long march
We can leave a legacy of adventure, of hope, of innovation, of adaptation, of caring, sand of sharing. Our generation has a voice that is easily shared with another generation.
Commaful can be a generation's bully pulpit
The young minds here are here to hear., to read, to tell, and to share. This is life our old generation has not only survived, we have prevailed. Share and tell your tale.
I challenge everyone to recruit a new member over 60.
It could be a cool aunt or a grumpy Grandpa. Maybe that ancient hippie next door wants a voice. You may have to sit with them and get them started. You will be rewarded richly.
Remember us. We need each other.
If it is any consolation, we probably agree that you parents can really be assholes sometimes. If you will accept my challenge, I promise to watch one Anime picture.
