I tried to keep a 4 beat meter, internal alliteration, and heroic couplets. Tell me what you think about the structure. Is this destined to rank up there with Poe's Raven or Whitman's Leaves of Grass? The first few stanza just popped into my head while dealing with the plumber this morning. Excuse me now. I have to go and wash my hands.

Ode to the plumber

by bernardtwindwil

The plumber comes The plumber goes

Tub faucet runs The leak still flows

A brass fitting costs six hundred

Are you shitting ? I sure wondered

The water bill is sky high too

The outlay chills make me feel blue

There is nothing to do for it

A wallet wring you abhor it

You shake his hand Where has it been?

A cost unplanned You only grin
