I knew who she was
Before I ever met her I knew who she was. There were 100's of song written about her. She had to be natural, blunt, humorous, adventuresome, honest. feircely loyal, and courageous.
She was real, she had to be
She could not be a put on. No drama allowed. What you see is what you get. Positive and friendly.
I knew I would find her
I did not know where she was. I knew she would not be in a bar, in a sorority, a choir, or a single's scene.
I searched everywhere
I thought I had found her a couple of times but they were just detours. I knew she couldn't smoke, or be a drunk, or do recreational drugs.
I kept searching
She was a classmate. We studied together. I did not know until I picked her up and put her down facing me.
Yes, this was it. This is what they sang and wrote about. Like a heavy hand was squeezing my heart inside my chest. Shivers and chills goosebumps. This was it,
I wasn't sure what happened I was standing there looking into he smiling face. She leaned in. The world exploded across my lips and down my spine. I wasn't sure I could remain standing.
The kiss again
I had to be sure. I kissed her again. This time it was worse. Neither one of us could stand we fell to the floor entamgled and still locked in a kiss.
The love grows stronger
We both still feel the same thing the many times daily when we embrace and kiss. Forty one years and it keeps getting better.
