Your Glasses ; Part 1

by author

And I waited,

Hopelessly, sickly, I waited

For your starry eyes,

To stare back at me

Your eyes were my stars

And I was my own dark night

You enveloped me with the clarity of love

A love I have yet to mend,

A love I have yet to accept

Baby, your eyes shine even brighter Underneath those glasses

I see the way you look at me

The way you say my name

As if it were a melody

And I loved the way you held me

When I told you I was in love

Very cool. Maybe it's the mood I'm in, but it seems there is a fine line between empowering someone, and knowing someone truly, which I think your piece approaches.

This is a bittersweet melancholic love poem. I really liked it. It was funky and down and dirty. Great job!!
