Rainbow Crown by Esther Jones
I stand before the throne ensnared in chains,
Heavy bonds upon my heart and soul;
I bow my head before the One who reigns;
I know that only God can make me whole.
The Maker strips the chains away from me
And lifts my head to stand unfettered, tall
And now that I am free I finally see
That I am whole and I will never fall.
The closet door swings wide and I walk out,
The chains corroded, rusted, fall away,
I clothe myself in rainbows all about,
And strut right out of nighttime into day.
The colours of the rainbow are my gown,
And on my brow, they form into a crown.
