I was sooo bored

I was starting high school in a few days and everything was ready

I had already bought the books

And other statinary

Now I had nothing to do!

My cat Nibbles rubbed himself on me and I ran my hand through his soft fur

I was really bored

Just then I remembered something!

Before my grandmother died, she had left me a small box

Which she said I should not open until my fourteenth birthday

But I was soo bored

I just couldn't wait

Besides, my fourteenth birthday was just around the corner

I took out the small box from my closet where I had been hiding it

I was super curious too see what it contained

I carefully placed it on the bed and opened it

I was surprised by what I saw!

There was some sort of wooden stick that looked like a magic wand

And a book which looked rather old and worn out

It looked like some sort of...spellbook

I blew off the dust from the old book and opened it

It was written in a strange language that looked like Latin

Well, I knew because I loved studying other languages. I was fluent in over 4 languages!

I just thought this was all funny

Why would my grandmother give me a spellbook?

Did she believe in magic?

No way!

Maybe she had watched too much Harry Potter

As I was flipping through the pages

I saw a spell which was was written

ɢɪᴠᴇ ᴀɴɪᴍᴀʟ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ

I looked at my cat Nibbles lying on the bed

I didn't believe in magic

But well I could try it

If my grandma believed in it then it was worth trying

Besides, I had nothing else to do

I took the magic wand from the box and pointed it at Nibbles

The spell was in Latin and I wasn't that good in Latin

But I knew enough to pronounce the words

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗰 𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘂𝘀. 𝗦𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗶𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿!

I uttered the words pointing the wand at Nibbles but nothing happened

Well it was stupid of me to believe this was going to work

I put the wand and the book back in the box

And just as I was about to put it back in the closet

I heard a voice behind me!

Both my parents were not home!

So who could it be?

I slowly turned back

"Hey Amelia"

I felt dizzy, the voice..it was..my cat Nibbles had just said hie to me!

No this was not right!

Cats can't speak!

Was I dreaming?

Everything started spinning

And I passed out.
