Sonnet V

For whom she smiles I may never know Nevertheless without a doubt I pray If only for a night to see below Below the mask forever on display

If only she could see through eyes of mine For she is lovely like a summer rain For me though it is pouring all the time So close yet at a distance I remain

Perhaps one night for me she will smile Her eyes glistening in the dim moonlight For that not even thousands of miles Can convince me from boarding this one flight

For fate was kind enough to spark the flame Two hearts in love and broken all the same
