We bought a new house today. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a fenced in yard.
Unpacking and organizing was underway. Everything is as perfect as a postcard.
Each room we entered, A new story would arise. What we saw next was hard to recognize.
Our children were romping around, Each room filled with joy. It's hard to fathom what one mistake could destroy.
Out back we can hear our boxer dog bark. Catching the bubbles being blown by the breeze. We skip, and run, and spin in the yard, As if you weren't fighting a killer disease.
Dinner is ready once the pot starts to whistle, The kids finish their plate and wait for dismissal.
We sit in our bed reflecting on the day. Laugh at the past and what we thought was dismay.
A kiss seals the night. Our future looks bright.
It was only a dream.
The heartache continues.
