Just taking a break from my own petty issues and *trying* to spread awareness

Amidst The Plumes Of Smoke

Hunched back;

Hunched back; Ragged breath;

Hunched back; Ragged breath; Blurred vision;

Hunched back; Ragged breath; Blurred vision; A monstrously heavy weight loaded on his shoulders.

Poisoned lungs;

Poisoned lungs; Incessant coughing;

Poisoned lungs; Incessant coughing; Scars imprinted on burnt skin.

Every muscle in his body screams in despair;

Every muscle in his body screams in despair; Yet an unwavering desire settles in his heart;

Every muscle in his body screams in despair; Yet an unwavering desire settles in his heart; a determined voice echoes in his fogged-up mind

Every muscle in his body screams in despair; Yet an unwavering desire settles in his heart; a determined voice echoes in his fogged-up mind and fuels his legs

An intense desire burns in his heart;

The desire to reach home

The desire to reach home; And lovingly envelope his little girl once again in his arms

His daughter;

His daughter; his small bundle of joy

His daughter; his small bundle of joy the only ray of pure light

His daughter; his small bundle of joy the only ray of pure light amongst the dark, gloomy fog that engulfs his life

His daughter; his small bundle of joy; the only ray of pure light amongst the dark, gloomy fog that engulfs his life; the only one for whom he'd give up everything in his life.

Step

Step After step

Step After step He continues

Step After step He continues out of the fuming sulfur mines

Step After step He continues out of the fuming sulfur mines With buckets of sulfur stones up to the brim on his scarred shoulders

Step

Step After step

Step After step He continues,

Step After step He continues, Blackened rivers of sweat crisscross every inch of his muscular torso and shoulders,

Step After step He continues, Blackened rivers of sweat crisscross every inch of his muscular torso and shoulders, And streams down a scarred back that aches excruciatingly And streams down a scarred back that aches excruciatingly

Step

Step After step

Step After step He continues,

Step After step He continues, Determined to ignore the violent coughing,

Step After step He continues, Determined to ignore the violent coughing, His lungs willing to give up yet his heart and mind not ready to do so yet

Step

Step After step

Step After step He continues,

Step After step He continues, with every step bringing him closer to home,

Step After step He continues, with every step bringing him closer to home, yet also closer to death;

as the cycle continues

as the cycle continues day

as the cycle continues day after day.

This was inspired by the song Terraform by Novo Amor. If you haven't heard his songs yet, i recommend you should. For someone who works so hard to spread awareness through his songs, he's such an underrated singer (just my own opinion)

I know this isn't the best piece of writing out there but i honestly just wanted to take a break from my own petty problems and write about one of the biggest issues this world faces: Poverty.

People are so desperate to be able to feed their loved ones and give them a better life, they'd go to any extremes to make that happen, even if their own lives are at stake.

People are so desperate to be able to feed their loved ones and give them a better life, they'd go to any extremes to make that happen, even if their own lives are at stake. An example would be all the people who risk their lives by working in mines.

It honestly breaks my heart to see and hear about such people and the urge the help them in whatever way i can ignites a fire in my heart.

It honestly breaks my heart to see and hear about such people and the urge the help them in whatever way i can ignites a fire in my heart. At the same time, however, i think we all should take a moment and observe our own surroundings and be grateful for all the things we have been blessed with.
