"You've been lying to me all this time, Scott!" Allison protested, screaming at the young teenager she had fallen in love with. "I'm your girlfriend, you should have trusted me"
Scott bit his lower lip silently and nodded, knowing she had every right to be mad.
"I know I was wrong, Allison, I know it!" He replied at last, eyes lowered with shame. He was doing it to protect her, but he had still been wrong in choosing to hide it all from her.
"Then why did you do it?!" She screamed back in frustration, demanding an explanation.
"I wanted you to be safe... I wanted to protect you. I know it doesn't justify it, but I never wanted to lie. I just wanted you to be safe"
A long silence lingered between the both of them, and Scott wondered how his girlfriend would react... if he'd even have a girlfriend after all this mess.
Finally, though, Allison moved closer to him. Would she slap him, he wondered?
In the end, though, she kissed him instead. A warm, soft, tender kiss.
Scott wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back, relieved that Allison understood the reasons behind his mistake.
