Allison was gone now... gone for good, and though it still hurt every single day, Scott knew eventually, he'd need to move on.
He had put his relationship with Kira on hold after Allison's death. He was in no state to be dating, to be experiencing romantic feelings for anyone when he was still so broken.
Now, though, months after Allison's death, he knew something needed to be done. He needed to try and move on, before he got too lost in the past.
"Kira, can we talk?" He asked, grabbing her hand tenderly as he guided her away from the crowds in the school's hallways.
"Sure, what's up, Scott?" She asked, squeezing his hand and giving him a worried look. She loved him dearly but respected his decision to keep a distance between them.
"I wanted to thank you for your patience" He replied, only once they were outside together. He leaned in closer against her and offered her a sweet smile. "You've been awesome to me"
"I'm just being a friend, Scott. You know you can count on me for anything you need"
"I know" He assured her, letting go of her hand, instead brushing his fingers against her cheek
"I... well, I'd like to go on a date with you. Take you on a date. If you'd like me to, that is..."
Kira smiled brightly at this turn of events and nodded eagerly.
"Absolutely!" She was so relieved. Perhaps this could be the sign she had been waiting for. Perhaps now they could go back to being boyfriend and girlfriend. Only time would tell.
