A short descriptive piece on an extremely cold day in winter.

So Cold

Cold, bitter, freezing, biting, crushing cold. It leeches its way down through winter coat and

shirt upon shirt

shirt upon shirt upon shirt

shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt

shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt

shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt upon shirt to suck the marrow from my bones.

It kicks up a wind and roars in my ears, frustrated with the hat trying to block its path.

It plays with the jelly-like substance lining my eyes: to freeze or not to freeze?

Pins and needles warn of the approaching numbness. I want to sleep. I’ll die if I sleep.
