“Okay I have an idea, do you trust me?” I nodded, “Yes but, I’m not going to lie that look you’re giving me is making me worry.”
He stood up and motioned for me to stand, “You’ve got nothing to worry about, he put his hands on my shoulders and smiled, now close your eyes.” “Why?” “I want to play a game.” He said in a cheesy horror movie voice.
“I’ll close my eyes if you stop talking like Jigsaw.” “Fair enough.” I sighed and closed my eyes. “Alright, now what should I do?” “Just stand there, we’re going to play something similar to red light/ green light.”
“Okay then why are my eyes closed? Why am I not allowed to move?” “Because I don’t want you to see what’s coming, my body tensed up, I know you’re probably freaking out right now and your mind is going a mile a minute but I just want you to try this. If you’re uncomfortable with anything just say red light and I’ll stop right away, okay.”
“Only you could turn a child’s game into something perverted, it’s impressive.” “You gotta admit, it’s pretty clever.” I sighed, “Yeah it is. Fine I’ll play your game Jigsaw.”
“Awesome, okay so I’m going to do something and you say green light if you’re okay with it, yellow if you’re kinda okay with it but not a hundred percent or red light and I’ll stop. That way everything is still up to you.” I took a deep breath and nodded, “Alright, you better not try to prank me or anything.”
“Okay, I’ll put away the stink bug I captured in a cup.” I opened one eye and shook my head, “Not funny.” “Hey! Eyes closed remember.”
I closed my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest, “Okay fine.”He uncrossed my arms, took my hand in his and kissed it. If my eyes were open I would have rolled them, “Green light and I’m sorry if my hands are sweating.” “You’re fine babe, he gently placed my hand at my side and slowly slid his hand up my arm, you okay?”
I flinched not because I wanted him to stop but because it was something so simple but it felt like more. I couldn’t explain it or put it into words and that was baffling to me in the best possible way. “Yeah, I mean green light or whatever.”
“Yeah I’m fine.” His hand moved up to my shoulder. His thumb gently rubbed against my skin.
~I love when he does that. That little extra touch when he has his arm around me or when he’s holding my hand~
He moved his hand higher, swept my hair away and touched my neck. On instinct I turned my head slightly. My breath was caught as his thumb traced my jawline.
He stepped closed and cheeks became flushed. “Still okay?” I pursed my lips and nodded, “Green light.” The voice that came out was one I didn’t recognize. It was mine and I meant what I said but there was something in it that I’ve never heard before.
His fingers went from touching my neck to anchoring themselves to the back and pulling me closer. I braced myself for a kiss on the lips but he kissed my cheek instead which is another thing I loved. Then he kissed my nose which made my face scrunch up, “Yellow, no nose kisses.”
I sighed, “Fine, just not very often.” “What if I bite it?” “Why would you do that? It’s not a place anyone should put their mouth.” “Please, just this once.” “Fine but I can already tell it’s going to be a yellow light.”
He kissed it which wasn’t how I thought it was going to be. I pictured it like when a dog kisses you on the nose, wet and slobbery but it was okay. Then he bit it which made me laugh and open one eye, “Hey! No looking!”
“I’m sorry it surprised me!”
“In a good way or…”
“Okay green to the nose kiss but a yellow to the bite or at least give me some warning before you do it.”
I felt him gently tilt my face up and kiss me on the lips, “I told you I’m fine with kissing just no tongue.” “We’ll work on that later.” Even though I couldn’t see his face, I could feel his smile.
He moved his hand away from my neck and pushed the strap of my shirt off my shoulder.
~Oh boy, I know what’s next~
I let out a shaky breath and tilted my face down, “You okay?” I nodded, “Yeah, I’m just trying to hide the embarrassment on my face.”
“You don’t have anything to be embarrassed about.” he ran his fingers over my collarbone, gently back and forth. It was a part of myself that I hated. I hated the way they stuck out, same with my hips and ribs. The words were on the tip of my tongue until he leaned in and kissed the place I tried to hide whenever I could.
“Is this okay?”
I tilted my head up and nodded, “Yeah it’s okay.” “You don’t sound sure.” “I am, I swear even though I don’t sound it. It’s just not something I’ve ever experienced before and it’s not a bad experience at all.”
“Let’s take a break and just hang out for a bit. I think I want this game to last a little longer."
