There is a flash of light and suddenly you feel everything. The strangest sensation occurs: all of your senses begin to fire at once. You hear and smell and see and taste and feel everything.
But something is wrong. You try to move your arms, your legs, your neck. You're strapped down. And you don't feel quite like you. Something is different.
You remember something. You died. You were in an accident. You said goodbye to your mother in the hospital. It was a brief moment of clarity. It was summer.
You glance out the window: it's cold, storming. Not summer. What happened? Where are you? This isn't a hospital, is it?
You try to move again and something is definitely wrong. You aren't you. Something burns your nose and bright lights hurt your eyes. Thunder crashes outside and your ears ring.
Something is wrong. And someone is laughing. A face appears above yours, a crazed, corpse-like face, smiling like a Cheshire cat and looking at you greedily.
"I've done it!" he says, with terrifying glee. "Dr. Frankenstein has beaten death!"
