The bulbous green mass gently moved, oozing green slime as its surface wobbled. Thick branches curled around the large spherical ‘egg’.
Holding it in place, feeding it with energy and making sure that the mass stayed one whole.
The thick branches came together underneath the egg, where they fused together and crawled over the old, carved stone floor towards a stone dias.
The dias sat in the centre of the old ruin under what once had been a circular, dome shaped roof. But that had crumbled down long ago.
On the dias sat a circular stone pedestal with on top of that an orb. The orb was slowly spinning around over all axis and gave of a soft shimmer.
The stone pedestal was cut out in a half orb form, in which the orb sat. But the orb floated a tiny bit, softly bobbing up and down as it moved.
The thick branches crawled around the pedestal and hung in the air, all around the orb. There they split in dozens of smaller branches, which in turn split up to form leafs.
All turned towards the strange orb with the strange light. The veins of the leafs lighting up in a bright orange.
The orb started to slow down and its light started to flicker. This went on until the orb slowly lowered itself until it rested in the pedestal.
Slowly spinning out until it lay perfectly still. A few seconds after that the veins of the leafs stopped glowing as well and the branches grew remarkably thinner.
The green, oozing mass started to move more. Shedding more slime as the branches withered around it. The surface of the egg made waves and oscillations.
Until finally the branches weren’t able any longer to keep up the egg. With a long snapping sound the branches gave in and the egg fell down on the floor with a wet thud sound.
There it lay still as the green slime started to ooze away and big chunks of the mass started to crumble. With no power to keep it together any more the mass started to break down.
At first it was an seemingly endless stream of green goo until a hand showed. An arm followed and soon the body of a man was visible.
When his face was uncovered from the melting goo he started a raspy and laboured breathing. Coughing and spitting up some of the green slime.
The man tried to open his eyes as he started to crawl from what remained of the egg, pulling himself out of the goo.
When he finally was out he took a moment to rest, sitting on his knees on the cold floor, coughing up more remains of the slime. Then he looked up and around, taking in his environment.
Noticing the state of ruin it was in. With a raspy, soft voice he spoke; “What have you done master?”.
