Somewhere, far away, in an entirely different dimension is a planet. That planet is much like ours. In-fact, that planet's name also happens to be Earth.
But asides from having some common flora, fauna, and humans as a sapient species, it is quite completely different.
Instead this Earth has a completely different geographical layout, a different history, other sapient species, and much more.
From sentient AI, to ghosts, to vampires, to muskets being extensively used present-day, to laser guns being a common weapon in certain areas, to humanoid animals,
to humanoids consisting of slime, to imperial nations, to tiny city-nations, that Earth has become what we consider to be fantastical, but for the inhabitants of that Earth it's quite normal.
The citizens of The Frontier, large nation which is surrounded by lush forests and gigantic mountains are struggling with the spirits that inhabit those forests.
The leader of a city cursed with eternal night is an undead thirteen year old girl struggling with a person stealing the souls of the city's citizens.
A city's king has become corrupted by hopelessness as its knights attempt to return order.
A floating city is under the constant threat of criminals and mercenaries, protected only by a group of other mercenaries that volunteered to protect the city for free.
An empire tries to hold itself together as it is left in the leadership of the recently assassinated king's daughter. These are only a few problems that plague the world, but on the other hand...
War, discrimination, crime, dislocation, they are barely present on this world. The problems it faces are...while much more peculiar, are a lot more 'humane', for the lack of a better word.
In the meantime, our Earth suffers a catastrophe. A catastrophe so devastating that it results in the destruction of our world as we know it, and perhaps the entire dimension.
Secretly, a group of humans is sent into a space ship that would enter a black hole; it was a gamble, as nobody knew whether a black hole would kill you, lead you to a void,
or perhaps act as a wormhole into another world. The latter option was correct.
The ship managed to find this different Earth by pure coincidence, but upon entering the atmosphere it had mysteriously malfunctioned, exploding from the inside.
The only survivor was shoved into an escape pod, heading straight for The Frontier.
Everyone was alerted by the presence of a flaming object flying towards land. Science teams dispatched, mercenaries hired, city guards notified.
But the closest one to the landing area was a woman honorably discharged from an imperial army.
Not only did she discover that she was sterile, but the people she considered her friends had died in-front of her eyes.
She was fighting her inner demons when she saw the object crashing down towards a field so close to her home...
She pondered if her prayers of a fresh start were answered.
