I cooked dinner last night for my housemates, friend, and boyfriend. 6 people including myself. I made a huge pot of bean chilli and then made it into enchiladas.
It took well over an hour and a half to prep and cook everything, but I wanted to cook for people.
And then we sat down to eat and one of my housemates was making comments about how she was still going to be hungry, almost before she’d even started eating.
She was asking everyone else if she could finish theirs, even if they’d just put their forks down for a drink. Then she finished and got up and made herself toast and ate it at the dinner table.
I just couldn’t believe how rude she was being.
She kept making comments about how she was starving and how little food we’d given her, and I just found myself getting more and more angry and upset.
Then I started convincing myself I was being irrational. But I genuinely don’t think I was.
That’s rude as hell, right? If somebody cooks you dinner, you eat it, you act grateful, and if you’re still hungry you get a snack later when it’s all over.
