One of the most valuable thing I’ve learned as a black woman is to not engage white people/men on certain topics. Rarely do I speak to white people about race or men about gender unless they’ve done extensive research and are coming from a place of genuine curiosity.

One of the most valuable thing I’ve learned as a black woman is to not engage white people/men on certain topics.

Rarely do I speak to white people about race or men about gender unless they’ve done extensive research and are coming from a place of genuine curiosity.

There are so many resources available to them about why “x is racist” or “y is misogynistic” and if they try to pick a fight over it,

you can tell they haven’t bothered to investigate and just want to assert dominance.

Why else would men scour the “feminism” tag if not to berate women? Why else would whites scour the “racism” tag if not to berate people of color?

The most liberating feeling is to ignore and dismiss them and see their face turn a swollen red!
