i am lucky enough to be in a place where i do not have to work to afford my school.
and honestly i never take that opportunity for granted and every single day i cherish it because if i was just born into a different family or if we had a crisis and lost our money
i wouldn’t be able to.
people like those in that last post think that education is a reality for all people and if you don’t get one you’re “lazy” and “think the world owes you something” just because you think
you deserve to not be malnourished after a full week of working. that is not reality. people like that are living in a fantasy world where everything is equal for everyone when it is not.
pulling yourself up by your bootstraps is not plausible anymore in america, if it ever even was in the first place.
these people were born into a place of privilege and think that everyone has it the same, when that’s not true.
times have changed and the economy is not the same, and having wage laws that haven’t been updated for years is a disgrace and is completely illogical.
how anyone can stand by this after getting to know the facts is beyond me.
