When I was 18 I moved to Arizona to live with my boyfriend and I started to work at a home improvement store. I had no friends and I don't make them easily.
I was at the store for over a year before anyone asked me to hang out outside of work.
I had made friends with one of the middle aged women (about 45) from our bookkeeping department and another from the cashier line who was about 30.
They asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with them. Of course I did! I was ecstatic to do something with someone other than my boyfriend.
We decided to go see the movie Bolt. Its a cartoon about this dog who thinks he has super powers, a total kid movie. I didn't care, it was social interaction!!
We get the the movies and there was this HUGE line, Ive never seen a line so long!! What is going on here?!
Apparently Twilight had just come out.
We get our popcorn and drinks and settle in for our movie Bolt. Three older women, no kids. There was maybe four other families in the movie.
A woman comes in with her kid and sits the kid down a seat from my coworker. She was wearing a twilight shirt. *Dunnn dunnn duuuunnnnnn*.
Twilight Mom: Can you watch her? While I go see my movie? I don't want her in here alone.
My coworker: Uhh... Yeah... I guess so?
The little girl must have been like five. My other coworker and I are whispering to each other: Who the hell leaves their kid in the movies by themselves?
The movie was super cute and the kid was laughing the whole time. It was really cute.
After the movie we start to walk out and my coworker that was sitting next to the girl asks her where her mom is.
Little Girl: Well she was standing in line for a while after our movie started so she said I have to go in and try to find her.
If I can't find her I have to stand next to this Dip'N'Dots machine until she comes out,
WHAT?!? My coworker goes inside to try and find her mom with her, she comes back out after a few minutes and said they found her.
I remember hearing in the news that Phoenix, AZ has one of the highest amounts child abductions, more so than even some states. I can totally see why now.
My dad said we should have reported the mom to the manager of the theater. Too late now, but dang... bad parenting.
TL;DR: Twilight makes bitches crazy.
