The theater I work at has a separate ice cream stand from the regular concession stand. Over there, we serve bottle drinks, and ice cream.
It was morning, and I went into the back to get soda bottles for the cooler. When I got back, there was a woman waiting for a drink.
I made the drink, and the assistant manager chewed me out for leaving my post.
Then later that day, he basically, "Sorry I have to do this, but the senior manager said I have to write you up for leaving your post.
" So I got a write-up, and my discounts and passes are suspended for a week or two.
I'm pretty pissed off, and it's endemic of the problem with this place...they get on employees for the littlest of details, yet they seem to ignore when employees actually fuck up in big ways.
I'm so tired of this place and their petty little bullshit.
They were in a pretty pissy mood because apparently they had a recent inspection where they lost points because of some dumb little detail.
I'm debating if I should try talking to one of the other senior managers and see if I can get the write-up reduced to a warning.
(I did have a prior write-up, so I can understand if I can't do that.) Or should I just shrug my shoulders and start planning my exit?
How do I cope in the meantime?
