I was 18 at the time and my step sister had just gotten into a minor car accident.
My step mom and step sister came home afterwards and told me how insane the other lady involved was, how she was flipping out uncontrollably even though it was HER fault,
her husband showed up, etc. etc. I took this with a grain of salt bc I know them and know that they don't always like to take responsibility for things.
I also wouldn't have been surprised if they blamed it on the other lady which would understandably infuriate her.
Later that day they left the house with my Dad and my step mom warned me to not answer the door, just incase the crazy lady or her husband came by.
I told her I wouldn't, but really just wanted to roll my eyes.
I'm just relaxing, a few hours go by, and then I hear a loud knock at the front door. The way my house was you could see the front door from the top of the stairs.
The door was stained glass in the middle and when it gets dark you can only really see outlines of people.
I creep towards the top of the stairs and look down to see the outline of a huge guy standing there. My heart immediately starts to race. I am jumping to conclusions "omg, my step mom was right.
WTF does this person want".
The guy bangs on the door again and I can't tell if he can see me or not. He is so big that his head is practically at the top of the door frame.
I also have 3 huge dogs, that he can see if he puts his face to the door, who are going nuts. Does this guy really want to take on my 3 monster guard dogs?
I go into my room, lock the door, and call my Dad. He tells me to stay calm, he's rushing back home, and to call the police if the guy knocks again.
I look out my window and see a car parked in front of my house on the road, but it is blocked by trees. The guy bangs aggressively again.
I call 911 and stay on the phone with them while they send someone out.
After literally ONE minute I hear a car door close so I slowly go up to the window and then see a police car with it's lights pulling into my driveway.
I hang up the phone and rush down the stairs to open the door for the police officer. As I'm about to open it I realize that his outline looks very similiar to the other guy.
I open the door and the police officer says "Maam, It's been me the entire time".
He heard the dispatcher and realized I called the police on HIM so he pulled the cop car out from behind the trees and into my driveway with the lights on.
He was there to get some info regarding the accident and he saw someone was home. I apologized profusely and wanted to die from the mixture of embarrassment / relief I felt.
Creepy encounter turned into me calling the police, on the police.
